Obesity and CBD – CBD may help support weight loss and metabolism. The cannabinoid activities in the hypothalamus affect the appetite and the food-seeking behavior. However, when the endocannabinoids’ concentrations are high, it can increase the risk of obesity. Cannabidiol can inverse the effects of the endocannabinoids on weight gain. It regulates hunger and controls cravings. It also regulates insulin sensitivity which can greatly help in alleviating diabetes and its symptoms.

The result showed that subjects who used cannabinoids were able to take control of their diabetes problem compared to those who had no history of using cannabinoids as a form of medication.
In 2012, the British Medical Journal published separate tests. The results show that those who consumed cannabinoids had lower tendencies of acquiring type 2 diabetes than those who didn’t. Similarly, the American Journal of Epidemiology published a cross-sectional data in 2011, stating that the obesity was sharply lower among the population who consumed marijuana compared to nonusers.
Another popular study is the preclinical study data released by the Nutrition & Diabetes, a reputable scientific journal. The reports state that tetrahydrocannabivarin or THCV comes with a positive metabolic effect on animal test subjects. According to the British researchers involved in the said study, the effects of THVC had a positive impact to obese mice that were genetically modified. Although no significant changes were noticed in terms of the subjects’ body weight gain or food intake, the subjects were able to reduce their glucose tolerance, insulin sensitivity, and liver triglyceride while reducing glucose intolerance.
